Direct answer

Is an elephant sanctuary in Thailand suitable for children?

Yes for most families if children stay with an adult and follow distance rules. Living Green Chiang Mai publishes a child rate for ages 4–8 (฿1,000 full price, ฿250 deposit). Use the booking form as the source of truth. Half-day is easier than full-day for younger kids. Big Boy half-days currently list adult pricing only on the product JSON. Heat, walking, and a 1–1.5 hour transfer can be tiring under age 5. No riding is included.
