Meet your driver at your accommodation and begin the journey in air-conditioned transport. Travel through a rural landscape of mountain rivers, rice fields, corn fields and banana plantations. Arrive at the sanctuary for an introduction, safety briefing and a change into traditional northern clothing. Learn about the elephants, their histories and their natural behavior while feeding and observing them in their habitat. Walk toward the river for elephant-led water time, followed by a gentle health check. Elephants are never forced into the water. Enjoy a local meal, say goodbye to the herd and ride approximately 1.5 hours back to Chiang Mai. Times are approximate, except for the designated pickup window.
